I ordered flowers online from 1-800-FLOWERS in plenty of time to have an arrangement delivered for my elderly mother's birthday. I received emails from the company confirming my order and that the arrangement had been shipped and was on its way. When I called my mother the night of her birthday, she said she'd never received a delivery. I apologized profusely to my mom and went to check the UPS code provided in my confirmation email. It said the flowers were damaged on delivery from the grower to the florist. However, 1-800-FLOWERS has no process in place for UPS to notify them about damaged goods. We can't access our personal e-mail at work, so I couldn't check the UPS tracking from work, because the tracking number was in my personal email box. I called 1-800-FLOWERS customer service to find out what they could do to make up for this situation, and the rep just said she was sorry. I asked when they could deliver flowers to my mother (this was a Thurs. evening). She said, "We might be able to get something to her next Tuesday." WHAT???!!! The largest florist in the world, and it takes you 5 DAYS to deliver a simple flower arrangement to someone in a mid-size city???!!! I said, "Forget it; just reimburse my credit card." The rep said, "Yes, ma'am, and you'll also be receiving a $20 off your next purchase coupon." Well, that's one coupon that will never get used, because I will NEVER order from 1-800-FLOWERS again!!!
