The PS2 has come along way from the PS1. It has real 3D, unlike the software rendering the PS1 used. It's easy to use, but what console isn't. The PS2 comes with DVD playback that is very nice,i have used it more then enough times to say that it's just as good as any DVD player out there, being it has S-video & coponet video out, with also a digital audio out!!!

I HIGHLY Recomend you use the S-Video, even if you must buy a new TV. That is what i did. My parents have a 31" RCA with s-video, when you see the difference between s-video and regular video out or coax. It is almost like a whole new system. I got a cable that i can use s-video on PS2, dreamcast and N64!!! I have not yet seen the N64 on s-video quality, but it's going too rock, which will bring new life to the N64!! it's that nice.

PS2 plays PS1 and PS2 games!! ..but i'm sure everyone alreasy knows that. The system DOSE come with a setup for the PS1 driver to smooth textures out under PS1 games, and disc speed options, helping PS1 games run a lil faster and look better also (Smoother) ..meaning less blocks..

DVD playback, works fine ... the controller makes an easy remote, so i would not speed 20$ on a remote that your PS2 controller can easily do Use the 20$ toward GTA3 (-:

Games for the PS2?! They rock why? ...Well what made the PS1 so good (i think) ..is the games that were on it!! Fun, actionPacked and fast paced movement. Need for speed 3!!!
So, sony kept the same idea, of course there will be games that are not that good, but GTA3 GT3 a spec, Twisted metal black, Smuglers run 2 ...Unreal... and more and more to come. Get one, at least for GTA3, which will be worth buying a whole PS2 just for that game!!!

Also Version SCPH-30001 of the PS2z that are out there i've heard can take some kind of chip replacement so you could play Copied games. I have the 35001, Oh well i'm not tripn off that... I'm not even sure how the chip would even go in.

Even though the XBOX has power, it realy can't do too much more than a PS2, plus like i said GTA3.. a XBOX dose not have, even though it dose have DOA 3 ..which is the best fighting game i've ever played.. We shall see how tekken 4 dose to battle DOA 3 ...
