I may have saved cash by booking a cruise through Skyauction.com, but I certainly didn't get a bargain. This is the Woolworth of travel sites, and we all know what happened to Woolworth (my apologies to Woolworth for the analogy). I've booked cruises through other sites in the past with equal or greater savings without incurring any of the problems this operation generated. Skyauction is connected to a NY based travel agency called Magic Holidays, and the only magic I see here is how they can stay in business given the shoddy service they provide. Things started to go wrong almost as soon I won the auction, with incorrect billings to my credit card. This was followed by non-receipt of documentation, duplicate cabin assignments for multiple members of our party, wrong meal seating assignments, etc. And getting through to these folks is a trip in itself. Be prepared for at least a 15 minute hold initially, followed by a surly operator telling you that the agent is away from their desk or perhaps off on a holiday of their own. One of the times I did reach an agent, I was told that the only information taken over the phone is credit cards for billing and that all other correspondences should be done by email. It took an average of 3 days delay to get return emails (not counting the "we received your email" automaton), and the responses were less than helpful, in some cases blatantly incorrect. All are signed "Skyauction" rather than giving a representative's name, so you don't know who you're dealing with. I could go on about so many other problems we experienced, but you get the idea. Want to save money on a cruise? Don't do it with Skyauction.
