The Bottom Line Read my current rating standards if you have questions as to how I rate.

Question So why am I rated lower by you than by others? Answer I believe that if you water down a review by using lots of unrelated material (or something that resembles such) and the true value of the Regular Review is more like an Express Review rather than a full length review. A good example of this is when the number of words would be that of an Express Review once you take away material that is not needed or is something as generic as quoting or phrasing information without providing real life details. What I have described here is a form of padding your review. Padding is nice way of saying you watered down your review. Padding can be ok as long as it is not the only useful info in your review. Padding should not be used to bridge the gap or minimum words required for posting as a regular review. I will rate this type as padding as NOT HELPFUL. Another form of padding is when you state the same thing a multitude of times without making a viable reason for it. The only time this is good to do is when doing a recap of the review of main points in the end of a review or near the end of the review. Question So why did you make a comment on my review? Answer The main reason I provide comments as a form of feedback as to why I rated a certain way. I could be trying to be helpful by leaving constructive feedback. It may even be just a friendly note wondering how you are doing if I have not seen you around on the site much. Let you know when you are doing a good job or suberb job. To help give you ways to make your review better for readers of all types. To give positive comments to let you know I see potential in your writing and to assist you as time allows. (Simply leave a comment for me is the quickest, but please be polite if you want immediate help as soon as I read the comment.) Question What makes up a Very Helpful or Most Helpful rating? Answer Very Helpful covers all the needed aspects in whole without causing doubt or questions of whether or not this product is for me. Most Helpful covers all the bases under normal circumstances and stands out being more than Very Helpful. Both must contain a clear recommendation outside of the simple option that is provided in the form of a simple yes or no only. Support your position with giving a reason, not vagueness that can be be confused as a positive or negative recommendation. Question What makes up a Helpful rating? Answer A Helpful review is lacking in some major aspect of making a clear cut decision on whether or not this is the right product or service for a potential customer. Lacks the Country of Origin on an item that was purchased recently and new. If you bought it and believe in the product listing the country it was made in is just being considerate towards peoples right to know where it is made at. If you do not know simply state "I do not know the country of origin." or something communcating that that the country origin is an unknown. If it is an unmarked good bought new chances are it is not an authentic product. Question What makes up a Somewhat Helpful rating? Answer A Somewhat Helpful rating is due to errors and lacking major points that need to be made to make an informed decision. This rating may also have a recommendation, but does not have any pertinent data that would support the recommendation one way or another. Question What makes up a Not Helpful rating? Answer A Not Helpful rating is generally due to the lack of personal experience included in the review and leaves a “BIG QUESTION MARK” as to whether I should or should not get this item and possibly implies that you do not own the item or not used it yet. Review is plagued with various types of writing errors whether it be grammar, spelling, capitalization, spacing, and/or but not limited to typos making the review difficult and possibly illegible. The review is vulgar and/or offensive. This simply means being rude by using unacceptable language. Review is some means of spam such as a personal advertisement, automated reviews, etc. Review contains Plagiarism, meaning contains data/words without being referenced that is not your intellectual property. No recommendation is contained in any form what so ever the reader is left to make an assumption on general vague review. Violates sites rules such as but not limited to providing links to review sites outside of epinions or shopping.com network. Contains misleading information. Question What makes up a Off Topic rating? Answer An Off Topic rating is usually due to writing on an item and posting under the wrong subject and is not limited to making a drama about a product without giving actual advice or info that is useful. Writing on a product that clearly is about a specific model and post a different model. Question What about the rating Show? Answer When rated as Show it usually implies there is some useful info about the product or contains personal experience with the product being of a non-complaint basis. If it is a complaint has some basis of personal experience in the terms of usage. Question What about the rating Don’t Show? Answer Don’t Show rating has no useful info for example no personal experience i.e. plagiarism and/or gibberish. May also be hard to read due to mistakes in grammar, spelling, and typos. Contains links which violates Epinions term of service. Copyright © 02.15.2012 |
