I can't stress this enough - avoid this company at all costs. I signed up for wireless service in September 2001. Worldcom sent me a phone. The phone displayed roaming right out of the box at my house. I returned that phone and was promised a new phone. The new phone arrived and was 1) the wrong model of phone and 2) roaming. The third phone was 1) the wrong model of phone and 2)not roaming but unable to make or receive calls. By this time is was November. I asked Worldcom to send me labels to return the phones and to cancel my account. It is now almost March 2002. I still receive monthly bills and past-due notices. I have talked to "customer service" and have been promised a resolution, but usually I am unable to get through to their customer service lines because they claim an "unusual high volume of calls" and hang up on me. I have tried using the customer service email, but those correspondences go unanswered. I've even written the CEO!
I'm probably one of the lucky ones. I haven't paid them a dime, but it wouldn't surprise me to find this account on my credit record someday.
Please do yourself a favor and pass on Worldcom. They don't deserve your money.
