Every four years, Black History Month lasts a day more than other years. (Yeah, I know February is the shortest month, but originally there was a Black History Week.)
No one has hosted a Black History Month writeoff for many years, and I decided on this Leap Day to list my relevant epinions. (I realize that relevance is a matter of opinion, and have definitely reached beyond historical studies to other kinds of representations and cultural products.)
I've subdivided my list into the following categories:
