I wrote a review back in '02 and now I'm back because I switched to AT&T in 2002 and was pretty happy with my service. I even signed a new 2 year contract, until...yes, Cingular bought them and converted me back to their evil empire. Again, dropped calls, unable to dial on the first try, 4 bars to no bars, atrocious customer service. Basically, they took over AT&T's cell towers but only Cingular customers could use the entire network. Legacy ATT customers were limited to the old ATT network. Unless they signed up for a new Cingular plan. I really hate the way they do business. Here's how much I can't stand them: I paid the early termination because my cell service was basically useless. I have been with Verizon for the last 4 months and while I can't say I'm thrilled(who can say that about cell service?) my phone works when I dial or receive calls. That's all I ask for from a cell phone. I would say Verizon is the best if you are a San Francisco resident. I would not be surprised if there is a class action against Cingular as we speak.
Gee, where do I begin...Although every cell service has its drawbacks, Cingular is deserving of a class action lawsuit. You can't make a call between 9 and 10 p.m. on the first or even 5th attempt. Their customer service is atrocious. Rude CS agents, billing mistakes, poor coverage. I routinely get dropped calls and get no signals in places where my friends get full signals. I signed up because they had attractive deals, but the service is not worth it, since other companies have since beaten their deals. I will be canceling my service when my contract is up. Go with Verizon or AT&T.
