So you know a really great person who is always going beyond their physical, psychological and emotional limitations and the holidays are coming up. You were picked to buy a present for them this year, under $20.oo and you are sure they really have everything they need.

You sit in a stupor wondering what they might want and even like ?

Well in one of those storage boxes full of knick-knacks, this angels fly paperweight (and several others) was wrapped in old newspaper awaiting a fine desk in either a school, law office, home den, children’s nightstand, or busy entrepreneurs home-office. It needed a home and I have so many of these, most of them different sayings, so I donated a few to a friend who can give them to the kids during the holidays who are in hospitals over Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

So on with my review . . .

I like pewter because it is a versatile metal which can be combined with a variety of flavors you want a room to have. This is brushed pewter and is equally decorative while inspiring.

It stands only 1 and a ½ inches tall and is sleek to the touch except where the relief (raised patterns or text) sneaks up on you like a Braille symbol. I always think of pewter as off silver so close that these two hues could be sisters on the color spectrum.

Just because this angels fly paperweight is brushed pewter, the metal can be manufactured two ways: finely polished and shiny or just brushed flat. I especially find the quote about those winged mischief and success makers, ya know ‘angels’, very amusing. It seems well they fly because they take themselves so lightly. We are very hard on ourselves as humans, and seeing this everyday, uplifts your potential and might even give you wings to soar above it all.

It just takes a bit of dusting every now and then as pewter is not a magnet for dust-bunnies.

Okay if there is one thing negative about this it would be that it is heavy enough to hurt someone if you hurl it at them; otherwise its safe and sound.

I find Pewter is a warm soft shade that reflects my search for simplicity in tranquility. The quote is a daily minute by minute nudge to my superior self that this darn ego does not hold me and I can free myself from the shackles of planet earth existence.

I engage in the thought that I can fly away without fear from insane relationships with stupid people, exceeding the human need for just companionship reminding myself its surrounding with quality not quantity that really counts. It does keep about 20 or so, 8 ½ x 11” papers with a 1 inch thickness, down in breezy conditions, but don’t expect the papers to stay put in a hurricane.

|| VERDICT (my) ||

I feel this is a thoughtful, simple, classic, perfect gift for student, teacher, co-worker, or even your rear retentive boss as all of them have an angel inside them somewhere. If you are looking for an inexpensive feeling better with myself kind of gift, this paperweight works for organization and higher achievement.
