I've been a long and loyal customer of AMAZON--until today! I recently ordered and received a refurbished ASUS computer from an AMAZON seller, ESOLARCOM. The computer was received dirty, with dead batteries, no operating manual, and was definetely NOT factory refurbished. Actually, it wasn't even cleaned. I immediately left this information on Amazon's Seller Feedback, only to find out later that I was supposed to have "Contacted Seller". I thought I was contacting Seller. After posessing this wonder for 29-days it died, no video, period. By this time my computer is loaded with lots of secure information, creditcards, SS#, bank info, etc. which I cannont delete as it won't work. ESOLARCOM, the seller, was of no help. The AMAZON customer service person said it should be covered by their AtoZ Warranty, WRONG! Claim was denied, computer was not returned within 30-days of ORDERING! I had no shipping address, but I did call AMAZON immediately. Later ESOLARCOM, which has been written up twice for not clearing disk drives of previous information, says to send it in for repair. No, returning for repair is unacceptable. I wanted my money back on the basis of the 30-day guarantee, not happening! Guess I'm stuck with a $600 lemon and a very expensive lesson. Next time it's Costco or some other retailer with a proven (positive) track record regarding returns, refunds, and guarantees.
