I had refinanced with Quicken about 18 months ago and I was fine and happy with my refinanced mortgage. I was contacted again by Quicken to re - refinance. As it turns out, with the economy going in the direction it was/is, the rates had improved making it worth my while to explore another refinance. I did my own homework, looked things up and decided what I wanted. I then got back to Quicken and told them what I was interested and they provided me with a competitive rate. I did have to pay a seperate fee to refinance this time, but at the end of the day, it still worked out financially for me. The process was then super easy. Most of the stuff that you need to do is handled online, they notary comes to your house to sign the papers and you are done.
Like anything, use your skills to do some research on your own. I used a mortgage calculator, I figured out what would work for me and I told the rep that that is what I wanted. The rep was fine with it - let me know what it wouldcost me, and we went ahead with it.
I suppose it goes without saying that you have to be on the lookout for your best interest, dont rely on any one.
