For years I have been able to find fantastic bargains at The Sports Authority's brick and mortar store in my old home town. However, after I moved across the country, I was not able to shop at the physical store much anymore because the closest one is in another city.
This is why I was very happy to find everything that I would like to find and more at their online website, thesportsauthority.com instead.
Web Site
The Sports Authority's web site is colorful and detailed, filled with loads of information about both sports apparel and equipment. Each of the pages has a list of text links on the left hand side of the page that activates when clicked.
Even if you are not sure of what link to click, the search engine on The Sport Authority's web site gives accurate results almost immediately. In the case of New Balance shoes (fantastic shoes that last almost forever), if you just key in the key words, you'll come up with a wide variety of shoes available by type. In addition, each shoe advertised gives colorful pictures, information and so forth to give you an overall buying experience.
When purchasing shoes especially there is a really great feature where you can arrange the items viewed in various order. You can see the results of your search in highest price to lowest order, lowest to highest price order, and according to gender/size.
It is really great to use these features in order to find the lowest price on a variety of items using these search and sort mechanisms.
Purchasing Experience
In the past couple of years, I have purchased several pairs of shoes, socks, and apparel through The Sports Authority's web site. In each instance I was pleased with my overall purchasing experience. The items were in stock at a reasonable price and once ordered, arrived on time.

As I indicated before, I have not purchase larger items through this site, but mostly sporting goods and apparel. Compared to other web sites, the shipping at The Sports Authority is about the same as other sites.
Online tracking is available through their web site, and I have found the delivery time and service to be reasonably quick.

One of the best things that I have discovered about The Sports Authority online store is that they have a 110 percent price guarantee on everything that is sold through their store. There are restrictions as to how you can claim this guarantee, but believe me with larger priced items especially this could be a great boon if you purchase an item online through this store and find it lower somewhere else.
Customer Service
Customer Service at The Sports Authority's web site is very good. The first time that I used their service I had my computer give me an "illegal act" message right when I was processing my order with a coupon code.
After I rebooted my machine, the system advised me that I had already used that coupon and could not use it again even though my purchase did not go through. By emailing customer service, they were able to rectify this situation whereby I could still get my discount on my product.
