Re: NOT Revenge Rating - who are you kidding (Reply to this comment)

It wasn't a revenge rating.
I'm not that petty.
I based my stay in part on this glowing review
Having now stayed at the hotel I feel that your review omitted some facts that I really wish I'd known
I promise you I don't rate reviews based on whether I personally agree with them - but found the omissions here glaring having visited the hotel.
As for being able to discern from the epinions pic that the hotel sits on a busy harbour, less than 400 yards from where up to 4 cruise ships noisily and dirtily dock - how exactly? Am I missing something?
I agree that this isn't a resort hotel - I wasn't looking for one. I was however looking for a good one.
Happy to agree to differ here - but the rating stands

NOT Revenge Rating - who are you kidding (Reply to this comment)
by nassaugirl
Any guest who has read a description or looked at pic of this property would know the tiny beach was on the Harbour. I, for one, find the cruiseships and thier horn very charming. There are miles of sandy beaches outside the city limits if you need quiet seclusion.
I much prefer this location to the overcrowded Atlantis or the over-commerical Cable Beach. You should expect any hotel located within the city to be in a busy spot. (ie. McDonalds, DD's) The BCH is also located near 3 museums, 2 forts, Parliament, Government House, the Queens Staircase, the Art studios and a dozen or more upscale and fabulous restaurants. It's the HUB of the city. No doubt about it.
This is BUSINESS hotel, not a resort. I've made that clear.

SH - Not a Revenge Rating (Reply to this comment)
by wholly_cow
stayed at the British Colonial Hilton based partly on this review.
As you know I wish I hadn't.
My biggest issue with the review is that you neglected to mention that the "Private beach" looks out onto (and shares water with) the giant cruise ships that come in to dock. They're so close you can hear the on-board announcements as they're made.
And you also failed to mention that this 'oasis' also stands next door to a noisy club (Senor Frogs), the major road through the city & between a McDonalds and a Dunkin' Donuts both packed to bursting with the over consuming patrons of the cruise liners.
So it's a SH from me - based on your omissions rather than what you actually wrote.

Your review was very helpful.
We are going to go to Nassau soon and are thinking of staying here because of their generous discount to Airline Staff.

It looks like this is your first review. Well, I think this is the first time I've given a MH rating to a first review. You do truly outstanding work.
Welcome to Epinions!
