I made a reservation with Travelocity earlier this morning, and when i looked at my account this afternoon there were two charges for travelocity. Both transactions were for today, each in the amount of $586.30. I'm sure i don't need to tell you, but spending nearly $600 more than anticipated is, in my mind, outrageous! I called Travelocity support, they told me that it's normal for a double charge to go on to the bank account for funds verification. (this i thought was rediculous, but ok...) I asked them if there is any guarantee that the funds would come back, they told me that the funds 'should' return in 24-72hrs. "should...", I didn't like the sound of that. I asked them if they were recording the call, or could give me a reference number for the call so that I could refer to it when my money (as i suspect) doesn't show back up. He told me no. I asked for supervisor after supervisor, always being put on hold for 10-45mins between personnel; always getting the same story about how the money "should" show back up. Travelocity offers a complete refund if the trip is cancelled within 24hrs. By the time my money doesn't get refunded, it will be too late for that. Even if i cancelled it now, there's no guarantee that the 2nd charge will be cancelled. I finally threatened a lawsuit, and they said that their operations manager would call me back (which i'm waiting for now, but not going to hold my breath).
