Great breakdown (Reply to this comment)

of details. This is exactly the stuff I look for when I go computer / upgrade shopping. I think you've picked about the perfect format for a computer review. Tech details *do* count here. Really nice job. - J.

Hi Amanda,

Thanks for the comment. I agree that floppies are becoming extinct, but some still need them. I have a Sony Mavica camera that uses floppies so having the drive in a notebook is a must. Not having one is not a bad thing if you don't need it.

I used to work in a notebook service center and seen a lot of different problems with notebooks. That power supply problem sounds frustrating and seems that each manufacturer has their own set of strange problems, they're hard to predict.

Again, just because of my service center experience I recommend the warranty after seeing the costs of these parts. There are some additional warranties, like screen protection, that can be purchased to cover possible fault related problems. But a lot of the problems I saw were from overheating because the CPU fan died, bad motherboards or drives, battery problems that caused other damage and other problems from a lot of usage that were covered by the warranty. It just depends on how long you plan to use it.

Thanks again!
