I joined Memolink almost two years ago during my freshman year in college. Although I've only earned a few prizes I think the two minutes I spend at Memolink per day while watching the news or waiting for the laundry to be done are worth it.
For those unfamiliar with Memolink it is a loyalty program. A member signs up, visits sites, shops through Memolink or signs up for other programs through the site and earns points. A member can then redeem points for various prizes.
Examples of ways to earn points are through a daily trivia question, occasional surveys, visiting websites, performing searches, subscribing to magazines, applying for credit cards, shopping with online stores such as Avon, Flowers.com, BMG Music, Kaplan test preparation courses, Old Navy.com, JCPenny, L.L. Bean, GAP, Land's End, Nordstrom, jcrew.com Eddie Bauer and a whole lot more. There are over two hundred ways to earn points but I only use a few because I usually don't shop.
You aren't going to make a lot of money with Memolink. If you did, Memolink wouldn't be in business. However you can pick up a little here and there and get the feeling like you've gotten something for free. In two years I've earned $20 in gift certificates. This is with very little effort. I also refuse to shop through the site because I just won't spend any money to earn points, which I feel, would defeat the purpose of earning "free" prizes. However, if you do a lot of shopping on the internet it is well worth buying through Memolink for the points. I simply do not utilize the big point earning opportunities such as shopping or signing up for credit cards. I also do not participate in their referral network as I don't like to "sell" things to my friends but do tell them that it's a good site if they are interested.
Prizes include cash and gift certificates. Prizes that I find in reach are $10 gift certificates to places like Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, WalMart, Target and Pizza Hut. You can also earn up to $100 cash, American Red Cross donations, movie tickets and phone cards. There are 135 prizes to choose from.
There are some aspects of Memolink to watch out for. For example, you need to earn 1500 points to choose any prize, even if it costs 1000 points. Also, customer service isn't that great. If you have a question and contact Memolink, don't expect an answer. Also, it takes a very long time to get your prize so make sure your address is up to date. One of my prizes took six months to receive but it was a nice surprise when it came in the mail.
Memolink isn't going to hand you prizes and there is some effort required. Don't spend a lot of time with it and be patient as your points add up. However, you can get something for free and it is dependable so far, unlike other programs which take up your time and then crash and not pay. Memolink is definitely worth taking a look at.
