Pros: Excellent picture quality, DVD playback, and good video capture
Cons: Not fast enough for newer 3D games
The Bottom Line: Still a good card but the new Radeons are better

| frankdrebin's Full Review: ATI Radeon 64MB DDR |
This review is for the Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO retail card which was released with the higher core clock speed (183mhz). I bought this card a year ago and have been very pleased with the performance. This is a great card if you are a casual gamer, surf the Internet in 32-bit color at higher resolution, and want video-in to watch TV on your PC or capture video through a composite input (from a VCR or analog camcorder) to MPEG-2 format. As with all video cards, they become obsolete fairly quickly, especially if you play newer games. New 3D features come with every new card.
Unfortunately it looks like ATI has no intention of an updated Video-in, Video-out Radeon card with the new 8500 chip. They only include video capture with the All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV. Gaming takes a hit because this new card has a reduced clock speed and slower memory than a standard 64MB 8500. So if you want fast gaming and also video capture ability, you may want to buy two separate cards.
