My husband booked a flight through Priceline a couple of weeks ago, round trip from Atlanta to Houston. He received the confirmation e-mail, was charged, etc. In fact, he received another confirmation e-mail from Priceline about 5 days before the flight. However, when I called the airline (AirTran) the day before the flight to confirm the reservation, they said it had never been booked--it had been 'bounced' back because, as AirTran told Priceline, that fare was no longer available. My husband then called Priceline and was told the only department/person that could help him was closed that day (a Monday, really?? and only one person in the whole company could handle this?) and that he would need to call back after 6 am the next day (the day of the flight). He woke up at 5:45 to do so, and after some doing, Priceline got him on the flight. This was done at an apparent cost to them (airfare had gone up to more than $800, from a booked price of around $250). We'll see if there are any issues at the airport, but considering I just checked him in for the flight and printed his boarding pass, all seems clear. So, long story short: they screwed up, they fixed it.
