Being many hours away from family can have its disadvantages, one of them being when major events happen in our families' lives we are often not there. My mother was having major surgery in another state and we wanted to let her know that we were thinking of her. Since she was going to be bed-ridden for much of the time following the surgery we wanted to give her something bright and welcoming to look at the day she came home from the operation.
We selected 1-800-Flowers because they had a pretty good deal on two dozen roses at the time we were shopping. Though we most often prefer floral arrangements with a variety of colors, I wanted to really send a statement of love and felt roses were the best way to do it.
We ordered on a Tuesday night after dinner time using their on-line site. We went directly through our Upromise account and to the offer of 2 dozen roses with a free vase for $29.99. Shipping was $12.99 and tax was $3.44 -- making it a grand total of $46.42. Checkout was easy and typical, and we were easily able to send the payment to our billing address and the flowers to her mailing address. Additionally, this site uses Paypal as one of its payment methods, and so we chose that at checkout rather than the traditional credit card payment.
Our request was that the flowers were delivered two days later, on Thursday. We received a confirmation email within minutes of completing our check out.
On the next evening we received a follow up email confirming that our order was picked up and on its way to the recipient. At lunch time the following morning(Thursday) we received via email a confirmation that the flowers had indeed been delivered. A followup email from my step father further confirmed that the flowers had arrived at lunch time!
I found the series of emails very comforting and well worded. My family sent me pictures on the Internet of the flowers ordered and they looked beautiful. They arrived perfectly and with no problems, and the shopping, ordering, and billing process on our end was a breeze.
I would certainly use this company again when I needed to order flowers.
