A Printer Store Guy Says "Pass On This One"

Pros:Low price, stylish looks
Cons:Low quality, short-life ink cartridges, low-level customer service
The Bottom Line: The Epson Stylus C60 is a very low end printer. It has fair to average printing ability and a low price.

Hello fellow Epinionators

I've worked in a computer printer selling store for going on a year now and I've had a good chance to survey the field and find out which of today's printers are truly the best price, the best quality, and the best value. Although we deal primarily with Hewlett Packard and Lexmark units, I must say the occasional customer picks an Epson Stylus for minor home word-processing uses.

Let's start out with the facts. The Epson Stylus Color C60 is one of Epson's new line of low-cost color printers. It has the standard software and drivers to install and work properly with your computer, but many buyers find the manual and set-up guide hard to use and confusing. It does all of the normal 32-bit and 256 colors and prints black and white documents with respectable speed. The major problem with the Stylus C60 however is it's low capacity. This Stylus has a pretty slow printing speed, especially with color print jobs. We're talking 1-2 full pages a minute. Also, the C60 has very small ink capacity. I don't know why but Epson only put in a 170cc black cartridge and a 130cc color ink cartridge. They still print bright sharp colors, but require new cartridges as often as every other month.

The Stylus C60 is however, a decent value. For a small amount of home-use, the Stylus will get you by. And a a very low $85 (at my store, on sale) it's a very inexpensive way to buy yourself a new printer.
