I went online to book flight reservations for March 14 to Baltimore, returning to Atlanta on March 17. When the tickets arrived, the dates were for March 8, returning on March 10.
I called TRAVELOCITY "customer service." What a misnomer! After being put on hold for over an hour I was informed that there would be a $50 charge per ticket to "change" my reservations.
I told them that I did not want to "change" the reservations, I just wanted to have the reservations that I booked online. I explained that the hotel and the rental car reservations that I made online were correct, but that the airline tickets were wrong.
The agent said that this error "sometimes happened" but that they would be charged by AirTran and that somebody had to pay for the "change." I explained that if this was their error, that TRAVELOCITY should pay for their error.
They said that this happened "all the time"! That their software would "revert" the dates the customer input to a totally different date almost at random by their computer!
Also "Customer Service" was insistent that I would have to pay $100 and that I could not even cancel the airline reservations and get a refund. I felt that from the rudeness of their response that this agent had talked to quite a few people in my predicament and was caught between "Company Policy" and outraged customers.
I had absolutely no choice but to pay the $100 for the change or fly on the wrong dates!
This whole experience has been a nightmare and I WILL NEVER USE TRAVELOCITY AGAIN!
