I was very impressed with blinds.com, despite a small problem.
I first got a quote from a local hunter-douglas dealer, which ended up at around $1800 for the one room I wanted to put cellular shades on. The same ones from blinds.com were $600. I got some samples sent out first so I could decide on the color of the blinds.
Once I'd ordered the shades, I changed my mind about a crucial aspect of the order just after placing it, and was able to change it with no problems the next day. I then excitedly waited for the shades to arrive! After 2 weeks, no blinds. I called them, and they told me that the order had in fact never been submitted. They apologized profusely, and express mailed me some temporary blinds to cover the windows. I thought that was a nice touch.
The shades themselves then arrived about a week later. They are high quality and look fantastic. This is blinds.com's own brand product, and the quality is definitely on par with big names in the business. The cost was significantly cheaper than any of their comptitors. The shades were straightforward to install. Because they are cellular shades, they are fantastic for improving the energy efficiency of the house - our old, draughty windows are now feeling warm and cosy!
