I am pleased to say that there was a very prompt and efficient response to my claim for a broken camera. The arrangements for return of the damaged goods were particularly very good.
However, there were some disappointing aspects of the claim process which detracted from what would otherwise have been a perfect performance.
1. Payment should be available by cheque or postal order.In this day and age I think it is both unreasonable and dangerous, that I should have been asked to provide details of my bank account in order to get a cash settlement. 2. The alternative of settling by Amazon voucher is also very unsatisfactory. Furthermore, sending an Amazon voucher with an expiry time of a few hours is ridiculous. It was luck that I read my mail that day and was able to use it before the expiry date.
After the very quick initial response, I am also disappointed that the company has not responded to my communications subsequent to the claim with regard to the status of the insurance policy under which the claim was made.
It is interesting that this is the second customer survey I have been requested to complete by Fair Trade - why is saying the same thing twice necessary?
