Lands' End...A New Experience

I've been shopping with Lands'End for many years and anyone who has done the same, knows their reputation for quality as well as their commitment to customer satisfaction with an unconditional return policy. Recently, (around December), I purchased a Polartec electric blanket for our bed. This wasn't an ordinary electric blanket. This was the "new technology" in which there were no wires in the blanket, nor did the control pads have wires. Sometime in late January, we received certified mail from Lands'End advising that there could be a safety hazard (the blanket could short out causing a fire). Lands'End followed this mailing up with 2 subsequent mailings which provided instructions on how to return the blanket (at their expense) and in addition, not only sent a check for the entire cost of the product, but gave us a 50 dollar gift certificate for the trouble. We even received a phone call from a customer rep. to ensure that the blanket had been returned and that our costs were covered. Lands'End has proven to be committed to customer satisfaction in all that they do and for that, I'd give them 5 stars.
