I signed up for an $18.95 a month hosting plan that included 150 MB per month. After uploading my site, the total space used was under 100MB, so I thought I was all right. Wrong! AIT configures their log files to grow in leaps and bounds, and they do not warn you when you have exceeded the limits of your plan. They expect you to hunt and peck your way through their horribly designed web site, using one of three URL/ID/password combinations that they issue to you (very confusing!), in the hopes that you can find how much disk usage you have. Since I did not do this, I was unaware that my log files had inflated my disk usage to over 750MB in just one month. I only discovered this when AIT slapped me with a $240 charge in addition to my expected $18.95 a month. So their $18.95 a month plan turned out to be nearly $260 a month. And I don't even use the log files! When I wrote to AIT about it, they refused to give me a refund. I wrote to them again to clarify my position, and an account manager named Greg Young had the audacity to rely, "Personaly (sic) I would be happy as if my logs were that large that means that I have that many visits." I have external stat programs monitoring my site. I don't need to shell out hundreds of dollars to AIT to tell me that my site is popular. I have no alternative but to contact the local authorities and to report AIT to the Better Business Bureau of North Carolina. Do yourself a favor. Do not host with AIT!

Other cons: AIT telemarkets other services to you and sends you spam. Once you've signed up with them, they increase the price of the monthly plan to $19.95, while they continue to advertise the $18.95 price for new users. When I first signed up with them, they took my money but did not send me my user ID and FTP info. I had to call them, and the person on the phone read my information but couldn't tell me if one of the characters in my password was a "1" or an "l." Duh!
