Pros: It's cute, simple to install and works well
Cons: You'll want better image quality after a while.
The Bottom Line: Picture quality is decent for a web cam. Too bad the people you video conference with won't see how cute your web cam is!

| suilobo's Full Review: Logitech QuickCam (961119-0403) Personal Web Camer... |
Look, when you go shopping for a web cam don't expect it to have the best image quality. A web cam is not something you'll want to take still pictures with but if you don't have a proper digital camera or scanner it'll do in tight situations.
Now that we got that out of the way, how does the Logitech QuickCam Web perform? Very well I must say. Logitech has always made quality products and this one follows in tradition. The QuickCam Web is easily installed. Just plug it into an USB port, pop in the CD when asked and (maybe after a reboot) you're all set. The Logitech software is simple to use and allows you do almost anything you'll want to do. And unlike web cams from lesser known companies you'll know that newer versions of Windows will probably support it even if Logitech eventually discontinues driver updates (although I don't see them doing so for a while).
Picture quality if pretty good for a simple webcam. It also adjusts well to different lighting conditions. Of course, you can customize that to your liking with the included software.
The QuickCam Web comes with a cute little stand that sits well on top of your monitor or any other flat surface. Included is a tripod of sorts for you to attach it to a notebook computer or LCD screen. Be careful with that tripod, little plastic pieces on it can break easily. Oddly, Logitech doesn't include instructions on how it should be used either.
However, the best feature of this QuickCam is not it's performance but how cute it looks. Ever since Connectix first came out with QuickCams (Logitech bought their web cam business a few years ago) people have associated web cams as little electronic eyeballs. This version makes it the cutest eyeball yet (unlike one of Intel's web cams which just looks spooky). It even comes with a little visor to maintain your privacy.
