Pleasant Holidays offers vacation packages, airfare and hotel only reservations for Mexico, Hawaii, Tahiti, Australia, and New Zealand. They have typically been a little higher priced then other sources on-line for tropical vacations. However they do have a good deal of information on the hotels and various locations within the destinations your looking for.
The nice thing with their site is that they have an updated java based menu system that is much more user friendly than their old site. When planning a vacation I make part of my routine to always check the “Specials’ area.
As with most travel sites they will attempt to lure you in with some rock bottom pricing that includes hotels on the lower end of the accommodation spectrum. For example, in Cancun I have stayed at the Yalmakan, and in Maui I stayed at the Maui Ocean Front Inn.
I don’t really mind the lower end hotels because I am more of the adventure type and I don’t spend a lot of time in my hotel room, perhaps 4-5 hours for sleep. I have seen decent prices to Tahiti staying at the Kaveka Hotel, that one I did not stay at because it was even too low end for me. Of course they do have the nicer, more upscale retreats for those with discriminating tastes such as the Melia in Cancun, Beachcomber in Tahiti, and Grand Wailea in Maui.
I will be soon making my third reservation with Pleasant, a week in Maui for just over $1300, including air, hotel and car for two people. I will be in a nice condo, across the street from my favorite beach. A pretty good deal indeed. My tickets have always arrived on time and I have never had any problems with my plans.
My only complaint with Pleasant is that the operators can be a bit curt on the phone and their prices seem to be higher if you book your travel on-line compared to calling in for the same package. The package I am planning runs $200+ for booking on-line vs. telephone. I always thought it should be the other way around.
Other recommendations for travel resources would be:
For Tahiti look at Discover Wholesale Travel (discoverwholesaletravel.com)
For additional Cancun and Hawaii packages try Suntrips.com
If your looking for great deals to France try Newhorizons.com, they once had a package to Tahiti for under $600, however they no longer do packages to the South Pacific, just Air.

Enjoy!
