| BariB's Full Review: Dell Dimension 8100 Series |
"Don't tell me about it. I don't care. PC stands for 'PIECE OF CR*P'" That was my mantra. I was a Macintosh person and I would die a Macintosh person. Well, I am still breathing and my iMac is in the basement. It was time to upgrade and reality hit. In the business world and in the education world, of which I am a member, Mac was just not to route to travel anymore. All of the neat gizmos and software was not available for my computer. I was devastated.
After much research, we decided to purchase a Dell Dimension 8100. If I was going to switch to the other team, I at least wanted it stacked and stacked is what I got. Our Dell has a CD-RW which is fabulous. The software included in our bundle, Roxio Easy CD Creator, is just that. Simple to use. Backing up files and burning CDs has never been easier (how could it be, I didn't have a burner on my Mac). The DVD player was an added treat and plays full length motion pictures as it would if we watched it in the living room!
The 1.7GHz makes this machine fly through the tasks at hand and with an 80Mg hard drive, it could take years to fill her up and slow her down!
The Harman Kardon HK-695 Surround Sound Speakers with Subwoofer makes multimedia presentations, gaming and music listening like being at the theater, arcade or concert!
We opted for the 17" Trinitron monitor which was the same cost as the 19" computer monitor. We felt that clarity was much more important than size.

While I do miss the Mac community, I think that my journey is over. I now know that PC doesn't stand for "Piece of Cr*p", but rather for how I feel right now. Perfectly Content!
