I love The Hunger Site online store. I actually had to write an informational article about this site and it piqued my interest. I was so impressed with the items they had for sale, I knew instantly that my artsy-smartsy sister would LOVE any gift from this site. I got her beaded bracelets made from recylced magazines and a wallet made from a recycled water pouch. They had a cute little tote made from wire and bottle tops! I think the handles were made from springs.
The best part of this site-- THEY HELP PEOPLE. Far and wide, they help people in India, countries in Africa, Asia and here in the US by providing them food! A life is a life in my book, no matter who the person is and whichever country, but I am so happy that there is something in place to take care of the hungry and impoverished here. Every gift is measured in how many cups of food that's being provided, amongst the price of the item. When I gave my sister her gifts, I included: "Your gift provided 50 cups of food." Essentially, you're giving a person two gifts in one (depending on how many items you buy and believe me, all of their items are tempting).
They have every item under the sun--clothing, bags, accessories, home items and so on. I prefer the recycled items. I like the idea that people are putting old things to use that would just take up space, are free to use and get food from it. Excellent! Don't expect that because some of the items are recylced that they look weird; they are actually quite chic.
This site offers unique items. True that the word "unique" should be used for truly one-of-a-kind items, but these items show artistic flair and creativity, in addition to functionality. The colors are amazing, the quality is excellent and all items bear a story of their beauty. As you scroll through the items, you can see the history of each one, where the items are from, the significance of them and so on. If you have a friend or family member that "has everything," go to this site.
There is not much more that can be said about this site, other than the navigational filters sort out what you need very fast--by price and category. Also, the checkout process is secure, quick and easy.
This site provides quality items at awesome prices and provides FOOD. Check it out, you will not be sorry. Once you get there, bookmark it. I guarantee that you will invariably know someone that could use the whatever-you-have-found, will apprecite your thoughtfulness, will appreciate your careful thought of such a unique gift and will be honored that you gave them something that also gave to someone else.
