Finally I realized my STB velocity with 8mb was not going to cut it with games any more. I started looking around for a new graphics card. For months I had been hearing about the Gforce 3 and couldn't wait to get my hands on one of them. Unfortunately the Gforce 3 does not come in PCI compatibility. So I went for the next card in line the Gforce2 MX400. My friends nvidia TNT greatly out performed my computers graphics so I thought since the MX was a step up I'd get even better results and I did. This card has proved to be a great upgrade especially from the level I was at. In the 3DMark tests I saw an increase of about 20 frames per second and buffed up graphics. Probably the best improvement is in game frames per second and high resolutions. Games like Midtown Maddness 2, Serious Sam 1 and 2, Oni, and Clive Barkers Undying could run in resolutions higher than 1027x748 and still pump out at least 40 frames per second. The greatest backs of this graphics card by far are: 1 the lack of dual monitor hook ups, 2 the lack of a heat sink cooling fan. The dual monitor is extremely helpful for people who feel they need more desktop space for what they are doing. Since there is only a heat sink grid on this graphics card this card is known for overheating when being pushed and overclocking just can't be done it will immedaitely over heat. But there's really no need for it unless your trying to get every ounce of power out of your card.
