I decided I wanted to add a CD changer to my 1999 Mercury Sable. Well, my car can equipped with a Stereo made for a changer. Meaning I had all the CD buttons on the face but no CD. I went to Crutchfield.com and selected the choice to find equipment for MY car. So I added in all the information requested about my year, make and model. I then got a list of all Crutchfield had to offer that fits my car. But no CD changers were listed. Ok I thought, so now what?
I went to the contact customer service section and e-mailed them a question about my car. I told them that I wanted a basic CD changer that would work with my factory stereo. In a matter of minutes Todd (Crutchfield Rep) e-mailed me back. He listed two CD changers that would work with my car and he also recommended an adapter that would make the changer work with my car stereo buttons. He even described my stereo setup to the T! Todd gave me the model numbers and the prices of the equipment and a link directly to that part of their web site. I couldn't have been more pleased.
I only ordered the CD adapter which was $99.00 because I found the same changer elsewhere for $40.00 cheaper. Ordering the adapter was a piece of cake. I went through the regular process of entering in all my information and within a matter of three days the adapter was at my door via UPS.
Crutchfield also sent me information on how to install the adapter, a new catalog, and information on how to install other items for my car. Their overall customer service and ordering process goes beyond belief. They are simply amazing.
Crutchfield also offers numerous other items other than just car stereo equipment. There you can also find home theater equipment, VCR's, DVD's, Digital Camera's, Speakers, and even Telephones. Crutchfield offers a wide variety of home and auto electronics. Their only downfall is their prices. I have found them to be a little high but Crutchfield holds the market on the Internet. When I would do price comparison searches, Crutchfield was always the first to pop up. I do recommend however to check with other stores and web sites first because you never know when you can find a better price. But if you are in a hurry then Crutchfield is the place to shop.
