I've never had software issues with the AMD processors running Windows. I'm not sure why this particular brand of motherboard should fail in this way, really. Other people I know have MSI motherboards and so far, I haven't heard about them failing.

As a side note, I'd tried using the K7t Pro2-A again several months ago just to see if it would do anything. Some of the D-LEDs did go to green, but it didn't get any further than that and of course, it didn't POST. It is still a mystery.

I get the same problem and i have had my motherboard for a year now. I am not sure if it is the motherboard or the AMD chip itself. Microsoft and Intel talk, Microsoft and AMD don't.
I find when i have certain apps open like Messenger it likes to crash and 16 bit programs forget it. When you hit the reset button it reboots but Ctrl Alt Delete doesnt do a thing. I am going to reinstall my operating system to see if that works, i will keep you posted.
Other than that this is a screaming motherboard for the price.
