| farley_racing's Full Review: General Reviews of AT&T Customer Service |
The reason I started with AT&T was because of the reasonable promotional plans they are always advertising and at the time there were not any other companies to choose from in my area.
I have had problems with AT&T from the first bill I received. When I had inquired about the different plans with a representative, I had questioned everything from how you were billed, to understanding my coverage area, and where I could & couldn't be billed for roaming, if my package price was temporary etc. the one thing that bothered me to begin with was if you paid for a package of 19.99 you were given a free phone, and when I went in having bigger needs with more minutes (bigger plan)of 89.99 they wanted to charge me for a phone. I finally talked them into giving me one.
It was easy to use, I didn't have to many problems with getting out. my main concern was the billing.
My minutes started on the 4th of each month and ended on the 3rd. I have always kept track of my minutes on my phone counter so that I didn't go over and have to pay the extra .25 cents per minute. but when I received my first bill I noticed they had charged me for extra home air time even though I hadn't went over, saying it was due to their delayed billing system from other towers I had been using when I was in an extended area or roaming. when I read my bill, and looked close at my minutes. I noticed they had started my time from the 25th of the month. the week before the 3rd so I was being billed an extra week before I should have causing my minutes to run over. when I explained to them that this shouldn't be at my inconvenience and my pocket book and that the AT&T rep should have advised me of this billing system knowing what plan I had signed up for, and areas I would be using it in. They really didn't seem to care just to say "that was how they billed on this plan.
When they bill like that I had no choice but to not use my phone a week before my minutes turned over to not be charged.
My plan also stated there were to be no roaming fees in all 50 states. I would later get billed frequently for roaming charges as well.
Every month I had to call and try and get the bill straight causing myself emotional agony of what they were going to pull next.
I was so disgusted with AT&T I had almost decided to terminated my plan, when I was given a number to call, other than customer care. They didn't want me to cancel so they lowered my bill and put me on a new plan giving me 1000 nights and weekends. I again asked "is this temporary or permanent? they said as long as I kept my phone it was permanent. just today I get my bill and they decided to drop the 1000 nights and weekends during mid cycle of last months bill saying it was a promotional deal and now I have to pay an extra $100.00. After thinking I had all these minutes last month to use I was Paying the .25 cents per minute. If I would have known that I wouldn't have made all those calls on nights and weekends. I know now that I can't trust them and I would never recommend them to anyone. AT&T isn't worth the anxiety & frustration they have caused.
If you like surprises, dishonesty, and disappointment AT&T has a plan for you.
