I had two old i1000 Nextel phones and decided to re-up with their service after a couple of years with other services because I needed the direct connect option along with two-way text messaging. When I re-activated my service I was told that my old i1000 phones would work. Within one hour of being activated I knew that was incorrect...text messaging only worked one way--to my phone--I couldn't reply. I spent 8 hours that day being switched from department to department to no avail...they wanted to charge me 400.00 to deactivate the service (I didn't want to de-activate, I just wanted them to sell me the i90c phones that I would have bought in the first place if I had known the ones I had wouldn't work at the price advertised with a new activation). The next day I spent another 4 hours again trying to get it resolved and finally was given a reference number and a promise of 2 i90c phones at the advertised price to be sent within 5 business days. Well, 7 days later - no phones. After another 3-1/2 hours on hold and 3 other transfers - I was told that they had a record of the problem, but no resolution. Now another service representative says that I'll get a call tomorrow from his supervisor - yeh, right.
