This was for a refinance. I received a great rate and the process was FAST, less than 3 weeks. The rates were MUCH better than everyone else I contacted. Additionally, I was not hounded by agents every day like others (Quicken Loans). The appraisal was fast (within 48 hours of requesting), efficient (next day results), and better than expected (beat zillow by ~$15,000).
The only issues I would comment on was that it should be made clear what the best method for communication is. My experience was email was very fast and productive. Phone calls were not. It may vary from person to person at AmeriSave. Fortunately, this was not my first loan and I knew what to expect. A first timer, may be confused about what to do.
Also, funds for closing were to be wired by me rather than the "old fashioned" cashier's check. This caused a slight amount of additional work from me because I had transferred funds from an out of town bank to my local bank so I could get the check. This step wasn't necessary.
One added note, make sure ALL deposits into checking and savings accounts for your previous 2 bank statement(s) are documented and you can provide copies of documentation. This info will speed the process and lack of explanation may prevent loan from being approved.
