After days of intensive research and shopping, I stumbled upon a review of the HP cp1160. I ended up buying my HP printer directly from HP online on February 13. Overnight shipping was only $25.00 and they threw in the 3-year support pack (a $79.00 value) for free! It was by far the best deal I could get for this printer! Setup takes a few minutes because you have to unwrap and insert each individual print head. Then you insert the two print cartridges (one color, one black) and attach the duplexer. The duplexer is fantastic because it lets you print on two sides of the paper without having to form feed the document after one side is done! The machine pauses briefly between sides to allow the ink to dry. The text and graphics quality is terrific in Normal and Best modes but the latter is very slow and I find that even with brochures Normal mode is more than good enough so long as you use heavy stock paper. Draft mode produces surprisingly high quality text (albeit somewhat faded as you would expect) and BLAZING fast! The most annoying aspect of the cp1160 is a little plastic tab on the side of the paper tray that apparently holds the lid up while you change paper. When you try to close the lid, you have to really push down and I fear that these tabs are going to break off one day! Also, this beast is loud and shakes any table that you put it on. No big deal, really. I have owned several printers and I am very picky. For a home-based business or small office, this is a fantastic unit and I highly recommend it!
