Compuvest misrepresents their merchandise on their web site. Beware of this company.
I purchased a CDRW drive from them in December. They shipped me a used part that didn’t contain all the software. When I tried to send it back, they refused to issue me a full refund even though the item they shipped was not what I ordered. When I complained to my credit card company, they lied about the merchandise description. They sent my credit card company a phony web page printout that described the product as "REFURBISHED". When I went to that same web page showing the same item with the same Compuvest part number, there was no mention of the item being refurbished.
They may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. The reason their items are cheaper than competitors' is because they sell incomplete or refurbished parts without disclosing this to the buyer.
By the way, the two epinions reviewers that praise this company -- 'markopolo7' and 'lenny449' -- each joined epinions at about the same time and each posted their positive comments on the same day. Surprise Surprise ... they also "trust" each other, according to their epinions profiles. And both have only written one review ... for Compuvest. Hmmmm ... I wonder if they are Compuvest employees?
