Preface The pornographic mecca of the United States is located in the San Fernando Valley. While people may not want to accept the fact that the porn industry is a multi-billion dollar a year business, a trip to “The Valley” might open their eyes a bit to the economic stability that the porn industry perpetuates. Long gone are the backroom filming tactics and cheesy music overlays. Today’s adult features have huge budgets, which trickle down to benefit many people – the production staff, catering crews, health management, location rentals etc. So before you dismiss ‘porn’ as smut or attach some preconceived notion that those that choose to view it are perverted, think about the number of times you’ve read a romance novel, flipped through the pages of Playboy or Playgirl or watched a late night HBO production [G-String Diva’s, Taxi Cab Confessions, Real Sex etc]. Some will argue that there is a difference between ‘porn flicks’ and the other topics mention, but what it all boils down to this – sex sells - and eventually, almost everyone ends up buying [or at least renting].

Miss Chasey Lain

One of the major players in the adult film world, Chasey looks divine in this film. Granted, the box is airbrushed for maximum appeal, but she manages to retain her intoxicating beauty though the film. She’s been in the adult business for over ten years and in that time she’s co-starred with most of the elite adult actors and actresses in the business. She is credited with over 140 adult film appearances, but several of them are soft core, interviews or AVN award ceremonies. Released in 1995 [VHS] and then again in 1996 [DVD], Chasey Saves The World has a substandard plot involving aliens, missing boyfriends, orgasms that have the power to transform unisexed mutants back to their human form and rather boring sex scenes. Strategy was the key in releasing this film before the much anticipated Chasey Loves Rocco. There was a plan to have a sting of Chasey Loves [insert name] features, but it was killed off by Vivid when the sales were much less than expected.

Porn’s Have Plots?

Yes, some adult flicks do have a plot. However, this one is predictable, moronic and a real step backwards for Chasey. While the production quality is well above average – that doesn’t make up for bad acting. Certainly it seems irrelevant to discuss the plot, however some may actually want to know what it’s all about. Aliens have invaded earth and taken refuge inside humans. In order for the female heroines to save the day they must find a way to evict the aliens from the human hosts. Picture the film Puppet Masters, minus the icky tentacles. Chasey, playing lead vixen Denise, uncovers the plot – world domination - when her boyfriend turns up missing. The solution – make each human host have a mind numbing, toe curling, heart stopping, mouth watering orgasm. In doing so, the human is freed from the alien captivity and they all live to hump another day.

Aliens With Condoms?

With the exception of a few European titles, all Vivid Video productions require the use of condoms when sexual penetration occurs. This holds true for male / female and male / male films. Chasey Saves The World features all external ejaculations [the money shot] however all sexual penetration occurs with condoms fully visible. While this may be seen as a distraction to some, it is a necessary tool [no pun] in the industry.

Get To The Sex Already

Ok, you were probably wondering if I’d ever get around to the sex stuff right? Well, unless you are a hard-core fan of Chasey or her co-stars, Jill Kelly and Missy, chances are this will get you off – but not as intense as the aliens / human hosts do. The solo sex scene [masturbation] with Chasey and a metallic vibrator should have been volcanic; unfortunately it didn’t even set off the smoke detector. She has always had a reputation as a screamer when doing the ‘solo slide’ and this was a real let down. There’s also a little voyeurism going on courtesy of Missy and Tony Tedeschi. The threesomes were shot nicely, but when there really isn’t anything interesting going on – what’s the point? A threesome between Chasey, Steven St. Croix and Missy started off and progressed nicely, but both leading ladies looked removed from the scene – in fact they looked like the paycheck was more important than the ‘acting’. Another lackluster threesome scene featuring Tom Byron, Missy and Amber Woods looked more like a game of naked Twister [lots of position changes] than a heated exchange of bodily fluids.

If you are looking for anal scenes, look elsewhere. Amber Woods takes one for the team in a scene that is less than inspirational – in fact at one point I thought I saw Jimmy Hoffa waving at me [reference to Amber’s affinity for anal sex as well as her recent prolapsed rectum]. The same thing goes for girl / girl action. There are a few scenes that start out with a high ‘chub factor’ but they never evolve into anything you can sink your teeth into. Jon Dough, a major player, was at the bottom of the sexual food chain in this film and if his character was edited, chances are you wouldn’t be missing much. You can also catch Nick Night, Cameron and Bud Lee in non-sexual scenes.

As much as I wanted this film to knock me off my seat and having me licking the screen, it simply didn’t do it. I don’t consider myself a porn connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination – but I could get more excited sitting on top of a washing machine than watching this film. Hard-core fans of Chasey will rank this as a medium performance, much like the films she did when she was a rising star. Her body is showcased several times during the film – and in all honesty – she looked hotter wearing a mini skirt, high heels and a push up bra then she did on all fours orally servicing an alien / human host.

DVD Extras

With a batch of fresh chocolate chip cookies, I persuaded Clerk X [he asked to remain nameless since his family members think he works at a bank] to let me take a peek at the DVD version in the back room of the video store. Since this is a massive no-no by the management, the store too shall remain nameless. The DVD extras were few and far between. Much like the VHS version, there are the token 900 and 976 ads and assorted still shots from the film. The DVD has a biographical area about the main performers, chapter scenes and sections and an interactive menu. Clerk X mentioned that this DVD had some issues when played on the Sony Playstation 2 and had some conflicts with the parental lock out system so take that into consideration of you own a PS2 and plan to purchase this title on DVD. There are a handful of previews of titles that have already been released – but for the most part you’d be best to stick with “meet The Vivid Girls” section to find a ‘date’ for Friday night.

Not wanting to press my luck with Clerk X, I skipped through a few of the early scenes and went right to the meat of the movie. I wanted to see if there were any technical differences – I couldn’t really tell the difference between the DVD and VHS version – then again – the television had several layers of ‘dirt’ on the screen. If you are looking to purchase this title, why not spend the extra $5.00 and get the DVD over the VHS.


Recommendations

Too Hot? If this movie was too hot for you, maybe you should check out Chasey in the slightly off base film about the corruption of a Mormon – Orgazmo. Chasey also has several soft-core flicks for sale; these range from erotic posing to Playboy type, non-sexual fantasy scenarios.

Too Tame? So, this just didn’t do it for you? I highly suggest Rocco Loves Chasey but don’t expect the entire film to revolve around her. Another good title is Nymph, but be prepared for hard core and some gonzo shoots.
