Pros: Ease of Use! Does the Job
Cons: USB Software hard to install. Instructions on install could be better!
The Bottom Line: I got a great deal on a refurbished CD RW. The Philips I have is great!

I had to write this only because after I bought my PCRW464K47 on ebay I read these reviews and PANICKED!!I got the unit and expected after reading these reviews that I wasted my money. My first attempt on installation did not work. The USB cable has it's OWN installation! Here is the first problem. The 3 1/2 in floppy used to install the cable doesn't automatically load(no wizard). I went to windows explorer and found set up. I clicked that, something happened and I thought it was installed! It wasn't! I called Customer Service and was told to click "Drivers removed". I did that and again nothing happened. The driver for the software (Adaptec) was not recognized! I called Customer Service again and was told the software was defective and he would send another to me free by UPS ground..... I thought I would uninstall everything and reinstall. (I had nothing to lose) Now I don't know if this had anything to do with it but you know when you install ANY new software it tells you "We strongley reccomennd you close all open programs?"" I did that leaving only explorer opened and went to create CD in the Adaptec and THIS time it downloaded all the songs I wanted and has worked GREAT ever since!
I would like to make two points.
If you buy a PHilips on ebay like I did DON'T accept these reviews as fact
and
I found on the two times I called Customer Service they were very helpful and wanted to make this right! (The new software that I thought was UPS ground was actually UPS Two day!! I have the new software still in the package!
