Terrible customer service, just when you need it the most

I was a loyal Newegg customer because delivery was fast and products worked out of the box. Unfortunately, their customer service turned out to be horrible the first time the product did not work. I ordered an MSI gaming laptop, which arrived in a couple of days. When it would not power on, I emailed Newegg, which issued me a shipping label. I sent it back by UPS the next business day and today, eight days later, Newegg emails me that they won't replace it because the warranty seal is broken. I call, but they basically say they'll return the laptop and it'll be my problem. The seal is broken when you take the laptop apart. Even if I were an expert, which I'm not, why would I try to fix it when returning the laptop was painless and riskless? And why did it take Newegg eight days to notice that the seal was broken? I'll give Newegg the benefit of the doubt, but this leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. By the way, I call MSI and they are wonderful. I have a personal contact to send the laptop to, and they will repair it and keep me updated. I'll so glad that I finally find a company who cares about their customers instead of take advantage of them.
