Once great program has fallen on hard times.

E-rewards used to be the best of many survey sites that offered rewards. BUT: that was then, this is now; it seems like for the past few years since the global economic meltdown, the value of the rewards you earn has declined significantly. This isn't entirely their fault, since the rewards offered are clearly dependent upon the sponsors' ability to extract profitable marketing info out of the surveys completed by participants. Since advertising & market research budgets have all taken a hit since late in 2008, it stands to reason that the rewards offered have similarly declined. To put it in perspective: when gift cards 1st appeared as a reward option, they generally fell into an exchange ratio of $40->$25, ie: for $40 in rewards points, you could get a $25 gift card, and there were many options. Now [mid 2012], they're at $75->$25, and there are only a few choices available. This mirrors the general run of point exchanges for their other offerings as well, altho' the gift cards always exchanged at a premium.
The surveys have become more lengthy & involved over this same time frame, without an increase in the points earned for successful completion. Where before a survey that was accurately described as taking 10 minutes to complete would earn you $4 in scrip, now a survey that is described as taking <15 minutes but will actually take 20+ will net you $2.50 in scrip.
I don't really think any of this is necessarilty the fault of the folks running the E-Rewards program, it's just the evolution of the survey-taking market place as more & more competition has arisen. But the net result is that unless you have a *specific* travel award program that you're trying to build points in that happens to offer a comparitively superior exchange rate on E-rewards, I don't think you'll be happy with the results of your participation in E-rewards at this time. I hope it changes back to something better again, but cannot recommend it as of June 2012.
