Deceptive Practices (Reply to this comment)

I am incredibly frustrated with Verizon Wireless Free-Up customer service as well.
I'm thankful I haven't needed it very often, but it appears as though they hope to diminish the amount of complaints they receive by placing you on "terminal hold" until you give up, hang up or die trying. When I've asked to be transferred to the customer service mananger or floor supervisor, I have been disconnected on several attempts, and then told to complain on the website since the initial representative claims their policy is not to give credit.
The other deceptive practice is the reminder message of when your account is about to expire. Instead of stating that it will expire at "midnight on Date A", the verbal cue tells you it will expire at "12:01 Date B". Unfortunately, listening to the verbal cue reinforces "Date B" several times. Thus I was late renewing my account by less than 2 hours, and their "policy" won't allow them to credit about $100 in wireless minutes back to my account.
Their customer service practice also will not allow me to talk with a human being. So, I am ultimately left with a form letter reply from their corporate heads who obviously have not taken the time to read my complaint, my pocketbook much lighter and my frustration level topped out.
I am looking for another wireless company. Unfortunately, Verizon is the sole source of communication in my home neighborhood so I still have to pay them way too much for bad, horrible customer service practices. What a monopoly.

I am suprised that you have had problems with the free up service. I have always had good expereinces with them. I have dealt with them a lot and they have replaced two different phones that broke. I have only had one problem with them sometimes they give you the wrong information about free up phone prices. Other then that their geat! Sorry about the experince they put you though. Good luck with new provider!
