You can't get much more bang for the buck than with this printer. I'll be perfectly honest, there are better printers on the market, but not for this amount of money. Text looks good on this printer, but it is an inkjet, so plain text documents won't look as good as on even low price lasers. Of course, you're not looking at this printer for text quality, you want pictures.
My favorite feature of this line of printers is the ability to take your CF or SmartMedia card from your camera and stick it directly into the printer. Photo prints look awesome on the special high gloss paper. The cost of the ink and special paper may seem like a lot, but remember you're only printing pictures you want. If you're like me you develop a roll of 36 with about 3 keepers.
This is a great all around printer for a good price. I do a little of everything from printing text to printing photos and this baby does an admirable job at all tasks. You will find printers that do specific things better in this price range, and you will find some that do all of the things better for more money, but for your money you won't find one that does all the tasks as well.
The only thing I dislike is that HP still has not gone to the four separate ink cartridges.
