Purchased because it can handle OTA/ Cable and Satellite (DirecTV) inputs in one unit. Picture quality is average, seems to suffer from some red-push. HDTV channels from DirectTV ( HDNet and HBO) are spectacular. OTA broadcast from local CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS (Washington DC) are all good, especially PBS and CBS feeds.
Just returned to Circuit City for repair after 35 days. Output to TV has blanked portion in lower middle of screen. According to Circuit City, unit is no longer being manufactured and new model from Sony is not due out until late this year (2002). This is a real bummer. Will give new report when unit is returned. Circuit City personnel were very helpful and unit is being repaired at no cost even though it is being returned after 30 days. Very glad I purchased it locally since I could deal with the store directly.
