Or you can do a SAP on this product. Someone posted here today under this heading and I am reading through some of them.

Sears usually has good instructions on installing and repairing their appliances. I have diagnosed and repaired my water softener two times. Unfortunately, I no longer have a parts department in my local Sears store, so calling an 800 number and paying extra postage is the best I can do to order a simple switch.

Actually, it was my younger son who helped on this project...Randall was too busy writing reviews! ha! :) Thank you, Virginia!

I think installing a disposal is easier said than done...at least for me. I am all thumbs when it comes to these types of home projects! $60 sounds like an excellent price, Tom!

Good Old Sears - (Reply to this comment)

Through the years when my children were growing up and beyond, I have always used Sear's products. I have been satisfied. Even their warrenty program was OK, but I will have to say that the only time the refrigerator needed repair was about five days after the warrenty expired. That is the way the ball bounces, I guess. Not Sear's fault. Good and helpful review. Congrats to Randolph and your husband for the installation.

I bought a decent Insinkerator brand for about $60 at Home Depot and installed it myself.

It's very easy to do. One does not need a plumber to install a typical garbage disposal.

Check out:

No, I wish they would install as part of the deal, but they did not! Since I paid $100 for the disposal and would have had to pay an extra $75 for the installation, I decided to let my son give it a whirl! That's Santa Barbara for ya! Thanks for your comment!

Doesn't the Sears by you install new appliances for you? I bought a stove and a dryer from my Sears three years ago, and if I'd installed them, I might have blown up my house. Thanks for sharing, though.
Sincerely, Pat
