I dont actually live in Philidelpia, but a small town near the MD line. Cell phone service is horrible in my area and I had AT&T. I decided that AT&T just wasn't doing it for me, so I decided to do some shopping. I called the Cingular 1-800 number and spoke to a customer service represntitive. When I tried to ask a simple question about service area, I was transferd to a sales representative. That botherd me, I wasn't going to buy the service, I just wanted a question answerd. The sales representative was trying to get my personal information and make a sale. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SERVICE AREA! So I had to inturrupt the representative and ask my question. To my surprise they boasted about complete coverage in my area, they said. . "everywhere and anywhere in Pennsylvania". So I was sold, I called my local dealer to confirm what I just herd and they also said that there would be service in my town. I bought a phone from Cingular that night. BUT when I charged my phone and checked for service. . . . NOTHING. No service at all. I dont know what they were thinking, if it was an honest mistake or not. I just think they wanted the sale and told me that there was service in my town without knowing for sure. I wasn't very happy at all, I went to PCS One, great service in my town and they were pretty forward with me.
