The 20th anniversary re-release of E.T. was a return to a time of innocence in the movie industry. This movie reminded me of what we,as a society,enjoyed in a good movie 20 years earlier. There were no gun fights,threat of nuclear war,or horrifying monsters that needed slaying. Instead this movie focus was on the innocent friendship between 3 children and their outerspace friend E.T.
When this movie was filmed 20 years ago the scenes were very advanced,considering the technological effects available to film makers. Now E.T. has been redefined using new techniques,allowing the movie to look even more real today then 20 years ago.
Seeing this movie again after 20 years gave me a feeling of nostalgia,a sense of innocence lost on a world that is so completely wrapped up in the sensationalism of bloody action packed films,and best of all empowerment in knowing that a really good movie never truly dies!
