My new contacts store! (Well.... maybe not)

Contact lenses can get pretty expensive. Like anything else, I always like to compare prices before I make a purchase. Especially if it is going to cost me a lot of money! I usually order my contacts from 1800contacts.com or I go to Walmart Optical. Lately their prices have been pretty high, so I decided to visit other online stores.
I wear Freshlook Colorblends. 1800contacts carries them for about $37.00 a box and Walmart carries them for 34.88 a box. With tax for the Walmart pair, they come out to be the same price.
Coastalcontacts.com had the lowest prices - $29.75 plus $5.95 for shipping. I was ready to order from them, but they didn't accept American Express!!!! I was really frustrated so I decided to check prices on other online stores.
Lensesforless.com and visiondirect.com were pretty close in prices. I opted for visiondirect.com because:
1) It saved me a couple of dollars ($65.89 versus $67.85)
2) Visiondirect.com's site was easier to navigate
3) Unlike most online contact lenses stores, you have the option to purchase only 1 box. Other stores make you purchase 2 at a time.
I am very happy with my decision to purchase from Visiondirect.com. It is my new store (until I find lower prices somewhere else)!
UPDATE:
I changed my mind on how much I like this place. There has a problem with my order. After I wrote this review, I received a message on my voicemail. They asked me to call them back because there was a question with my order. When I called back the lady did not know what the problem was when she looked up my order. I suggested maybe it was because I order 1 box of 2 different brands. Then she pulled something out of her butt - it is because you have a different billing address than your shipping address. That's why we can't process your order.
I've never heard of such nonsense. I've ordered from a million online stores that let me do that without a problem.
I asked her if they were going to ship out my order today. She said it was possible.
I just checked the status of my order and it doesn't say anything about my lenses being shipping out. Jeankat is very frustrated. I wrote them an email and I hope they respond soon.
I will let you know what happens! Maybe I will have to switch to lensesforless.com
Update to my update... Today is December 14, 2002
I am so angry with Visiondirect. I would rather go back to 1800contacts.com even if it does mean paying a couple more dollars for lenses.
One of my brand new lenses was ripped when I opened it! So I called customer service to try to get this lens replaced. I was treated very rudely by the CS rep. She spoke to me with a nasty tone and made me feel like I was an idiot or something. She told me that she had never heard of a brand new lens ripping and that if it did it only happens one in a million times. What she offered to do was to give me a gift certificate for that one lens and it will be in my account ready to use toward my next purchase.
I asked her politely if they could just send me a replacement for that one lens and she gave me some bull about how the manufacturer did not send them trials so they could not do it. I informed her that this did happen to me before. I had ordered some contacts from 1800contacts.com a year and a half ago and one of the contacts were defective. I called them in the middle of the night. They were apologetic, kind, and gave me no grief. They had my lens in the mail the next day.
The rude CS rep said to me "well even if we could give you a replacement you would have to send us the defect." I told her, "guess what? I saved it." HA.
So I do not know what the hay I am going to do with a 4.99 credit when a box of lenses (comes with 6 contacts) costs about 30.00. How is this "gift certificate" going to help me when I need the lens now? What if I did not want to order the same brand or color? What if I did not want to order from them again?
Well after all this I do not wish to order from this company ever again and I hope you all do not either!
