Worst Desktop to hit the streets

Cons: bad service, not enough RAM, unreliable OS
The Bottom Line: This is a really bad computer. You will have a lot of trouble with it. Would NOT recommend to any gamer or power user.

You go to CompUSA to buy a computer. You see many items including this Compaq. You think you should buy it. You see it has an adequate processor, a reasonable hard drive, and 64MB RAM (which can be expandable). So you decide you should buy. After all it's not that expensive. After you've set it up and are running Windows 98, you connect to the Internet. Wow, you think, this is a really great system. 3 weeks after you buy it, it crashes. All your information s lost. That happened to me 3 years ago when I bought this junk. I hated it. It caused so many problems. About 6 months later, it got obsolete and performance dropped. So I ran out and bought more memory. Now I have 224MB of SDRAM. I thought it would run better. It was as worse as before. I thought of selling it and buying the new 1GHz Pentium 3s. But I did a terrible mistake: I kept it. It continued causing me problems. I called tech support almost every day but they didnt help. Then finally I replaced my Windows 98 with the new Windows 2000 operating system. It was a miracle. It ran so much better. It supported more hardware. Then I bought a CD-RW and DVD player. It ran good but still not great. This PC is not for gamers or power users. I would recommend it as a second PC. It's as bad as eMachines. And if you do buy, dont bother with tech support they wont help.
