Authorize.Net is a credit card processing gateway, not a ecommerce development company. Therefore they don't offer scripting/programming support. They also don't provide shopping carts and they didn't program your website.
I wish anyone a lot of luck trying to find a free credit card processing gateway.
Also, Authorize.Net doesn't take a percentage of sales. That is done by the merchant service provider. Once again, an obviously confused person making unfounded and inaccurate statements.

Even regular brick and mortar merchants pay a percentage to their credit card processing company for processing transactions. So, expecting a company to not charge for this feature is really not reasonable.
That and the outrageous amount of service charges and interest rates on credit cards is what keeps these banks and merchants (who process transacations) in business.
