Pros:tastes great, good kick, easy to make
Cons:need an ice-cream machine for the best drinks
The Bottom Line: A great drink mixer that tastes great - just don't drink and drive!

The first time I'd ever purchased the T.G.I. Friday's Blenders Mudslide flavor was - of course - after I'd actually had a mudslide in the restaurant. The drinks at the restaurant come in huge goblet-like glasses and are a wonderful treat with any meal. Surely I could duplicate it at home. For a while, I had Mudslides that were somewhat comparable to what they serve there.
Then, I discovered a way to make them better.
The T.G.I. Friday's Blenders Mudslide flavor is a coffee and chocolate flavored beverage enhanced with rum. Primary ingredients are rum, non-dairy creamer, chocolate & other flavors. The instructions on the bottle are to blend 3 ounces with 1 cup of ice in a blender for a drink, or 1 ½ cups of the blender with 4 cups of ice for a pitcher.
Being the sick, twisted and somewhat adventurous person that I am, I took 1 ½ cups of the mix, 1 cup of milk and 1 to 1 ½ cups of water and placed it in my ice-cream maker. The result was the most delicious smoothie I'd ever had in my life. Since I am not chopping ice up, I don't end up with the huge globs of ice crunching in my teeth. This produced about a quart's worth of Mudslide Smoothie, and then I'd have to wait for the ice-cream maker to refreeze before I could make more. Bummer.
I found that making them in the ice-cream maker, even with the added milk and water, made the drink taste stronger than using the blender and ice formula.
My next step was trying a second variety of T.G.I. Friday's Blenders. Since I don't care for coconut, I decided to pass on the Pina Colada flavor and tried the Orange Dream. This is a mix of vodka, non-dairy creamer, and natural and artificial flavors. Created once again in the ice-cream maker, this came out even better than the Mudslide! I was in heaven. It is a delicious blend of orange and vanilla flavors and tastes a lot like the fruit juice smoothies I'd had at amusement parks. Only thing is, about a half hour later, you don't want to have to be getting on any roller-coasters.
What is left to do after I whip up a batch of my favorite smoothies courtesy of T.G.I. Friday's Blenders, but to cozy up with a good movie. Perhaps it'll be Article 99 to satisfy my Kiefer Sutherland obsession - I was reminded of this flick courtesy of artbyjude (Article 99).
And I'll raise my drink to toast Peter Smith, SMITHSWOODSIDE. I have learned more about Australia from him than I did from Survivor 2 - not sure if that is good or bad ;-) I can generally count on two things when I read his reviews: I will get a nice chuckle and I will have to read it at least twice. Peter has made the time I have spent here at epinions much more enjoyable. I can't imagine this site without him.
